while having some fun in the process (yes, it’s possible and we need more of it!)
What Makes This Support Different?
This program isn’t about quick fixes or one-size-fits-all advice. It’s a customized roadmap that meets you where you are and provides practical, compassionate guidance to:
- Understand your child’s needs beyond behavior (so you can implement lasting changes)
- Regulate yourself and co-regulate with your child (so you can finally stay calm and even do it with ease!)
- Identify and let go of unrealistic expectations (that’s my super secret not so secret thing that makes all the difference!)
- Build a strong, sustainable support system (because we can’t do it alone but finding the right people is hard)
- Foster deep, lasting connection with your child (that’s what will have the most impact over time, I promise)
All of that from the belief that you are the expert on your child, and our work together is about strengthening your confidence, finding what works for YOUR family, and making it realistic and sustainable.

What You’ll Gain from This Program

I really enjoyed the call with Anouk. We were chatting, laughing, exchanging experiences… I love how she can create a joyful, warm and safe space to interact. It felt like a coffee date with a friend!
She was very attentive and understanding (...). Thanks a lot for listening and sharing your experience with me, Anouk.

What’s included?: A step-by-step framework to parent your way out of the crisis
(if, like me, you love knowing all the details, here it is)
This 1:1 support is structured into clear, actionable sections, with practical tools to help you at every step. Because the program is 100% adaptable to your reality, we will likely move steps and stuff around or remove some elements if they are not an issue for you so it fits your needs better, but what will be covered is:
Step 1: Understanding What’s Not Working
Before we dive into solutions, we take stock of what’s happening now:
- What strategies have you tried, and why aren’t they working?
- Why traditional parenting advice are failing with your emotionally intense children
- Moving from self-judgment and guilt to self-compassion
- Key Mindset Shift: Kids do well when they can… and so do you.
- Goal: Safety, confidence, and connection.
- Tool: Value Exercise – Identifying your #1 parenting priority
Step 2: What Are Your Child’s Needs?
We are often baffled by them and are having a hard time finding the need under the behavior, we’ll work on that so you get a better idea.
- Learning to trust your instincts as you know a lot on that topic already (through practical mindful exercises + journal prompts)
- Identifying mismatches between needs and context (e.g., school, social settings)
- Recognizing signs of kids’ burnout (and what to do about it)
- Tools: Detective Process Roadmap – Observation, photo journaling, note-taking, conversations with your child and others
- Bonus (if needed and relevant): Looking back at their childhood for patterns
Step 3: Co-Regulation & Nervous System Awareness
That’s THE thing that will help calm your family the fastest
- Why regulation doesn’t mean being calm all the time
- Understanding coregulation and why it’s essential
- Deep dive into the nervous system and trauma (big T and little t traumas) to identify where it’s showing up in your child and yourself
- Tools: Identify your existing coregulation strategies + new ways to support your child’s nervous system
- Bonus: Reacting and dealing with your child’s pain
Step 4: What Are Your Needs?
Parents often forget they have needs too. In this section, we focus on:
- Self-regulation strategies that actually work for you
- Self-care beyond the usual “bubble baths and deep breaths” (and regular reminders so you actually take the time)
- How to recognize burnout before it takes over and how to turn the table if it already has
- Tools: Realistic Self-Care Guide, Assessing Regulation Checklist (Signs of dysregulation + how to come back)
- Bonus (if relevant): Addressing siblings’ and your couple’ needs
Step 5: Letting Go - Kids Edition
- Identifying unrealistic expectations for your child
- Accommodating vs. enabling: What’s too hard right now?
- The myth of resilience, punishment, and consequences
- Tools: Simplified Parenting for Kids – Clarifying the main priorities and adjusting expectations
- Bonuses (if needed): Intro to low-demand parenting and Supporting kids with substance use/addiction
Step 6: Letting Go - Parents Edition
- How judgment (from self, family, and society) impacts you and your parenting
- Understanding the intersectionality of judgment
- Tools: Simplified Parenting for Parents – Identifying where you feel like you're failing, deciding what to let go of, and creating an exit strategy so you don’t have that feeling anymore
- Bonus: Navigating grief for the parenting journey you imagined
Step 7: Building Your Support System
- Assessing your current support system: Who/what helps? Who/what doesn’t?
- How to find the right support and let go of the wrong ones
- Tools: Systemic Diagram – Mapping out your family’s support network
- Bonus: Societal pressures and their impact on parenting
Step 8: Confidence & Connection
- The role of confidence in parenting (and how it influences your child)
- Tools: Decision-Making Made Easy, Confident Parent Journal & Cards
- Connection as the foundation of everything – Prioritizing relationships over behavior
- Tools: Connected Family Experiment, Enjoy the Present Moment Guide
This support will work for you even if...
- You don't have the time: It's the NUMBER ONE goal of this program to fit right in the cracks of your days (and nights) while you wait in line at the grocery store, are at the park with the kids, wait for water to boil, are outside one of your kids appointments or nursing a younger one. You can listen to the content in the podcast, ask questions and check answers in the chat and do the practical exercises that takes minutes or are thought to get built into your daily routine.
- You have zero energy: Oh how I feel you! It can be so emotionally draining to take care of emotionally intense kids. By clarifying your thoughts and worries and cleaning up your feeling of not being the parent you want to be, some of your energy will come back to you. And you don't have to dress up and get out of the house to get support, not even show your face on a Zoom call after the first one, you just need your phone and the ability to use it and a journal of some sort! You could even be laying in bed...or on the toilet 😜. So not much energy required.
- You've already read all the parenting advice and nothing works, why would it be different?: This is one of the main objectives of the program: Focus on YOUR child to find what's going on and try solutions tailored to their needs, and yours, so it actually works. There is no cookie cutter solutions here, just working together to find the right ones for you. There's some information that might be new to you (or not) but none of them are "parenting hacks". Full discloser, I might point you to some resources I think can help YOU. In fact it's kind of my super power to find the right resources to fit your needs.
- You have a child(ren) with special needs/nobody understands what your going through: Emotionally intense kids and kids with special needs are very similar in the fact that they need parenting tailored to them. I myself have children who are not neurotypical and have worked (and still work) with parents of kids who have different needs from the "norm" in many ways (complicated health issues, developmental delays, trauma, etc.), so I'm well placed to understand that everyone has very different realities and I promise you I WON'T JUDGE and I BELIEVE YOU as you are the one who know your kids the best.

Anouk was so involved and responsive with all the students on board. She gave so freely of herself. But she also does it in the course material and shares her knowledge and tips without holding back so that everyone wins.

"Anouk (...) is very intuitive and knowledgeable and had great practical tips for me to tackle the challenges I am experiencing with my 2 children.
She had insight which I had not ever even contemplated myself.
Thanks so much Anouk!"

Being a parent is not easy and can even be a constant challenge, especially when we have emotionally intense kids or kids with special needs! But it can also be so enriching and rewarding when we finally find something that helps them...and us at the same time!
Nowadays, we have access to all the possible informations on parenting which aim to help us be better parents, but also add pressure to the one we already put on ourselves! Especially when those informations don't work for our kids!
And what about the support (or lack thereof) and the judgment of other parents, those around us and society in general? That JUST DON'T GET IT!
It's to see more clearly in all of this and to help parents identify their emotionally intense kids needs, let go of all the things you "should be doing" that makes things worst, lean on your strengths and use them to take back some control on your family life that I created Family Moments and the Back to Trust Parenting Support. To clear things up and refocus on yourselves and your children to know how to act as parents, because we are the only real experts of our children!

The way I support you is not a set program or specific approche, it's adapted based on your needs, so it's not scientifically tested as is, since it's never exactly the same. However, I am using different approach that are based on scientific data like the systemic approach, the theory of empowerment, Therapeutical photography and the Narative approach as the main intervention approach which have been studied in recognized universities and still are, and which are used in the field of social work I am trained in, but also in other disciplines.
I will be happy to answer them. I'm always the one who reads everything but still has questions, so I completely understand. You just have to book a 15 minutes appointment for all your questions.
